Hi @gguarino! I haven't personally used the Farberware FMO16AHTPLB, but I found an article about it on TechReviewer Overview of the Farberware FMO16AHTPLB Microwave which might give you a better idea. The author mentioned that it lacks a convection feature and venting system.
Yeah, @psychedelicphil is right about those things. I've been using the Farberware FMO16AHTPLB for a few months now, and while it works great for reheating leftovers or cooking smaller meals, I do miss having a convection feature. For example, I tried to cook a bigger turkey roast in it, and it just didn't come out as evenly cooked as I hoped.
That's interesting, @riveroaken. Thanks for sharing your experience. So, would you say the lack of a convection feature is a deal-breaker for larger meals?
I'm also considering this microwave and was wondering what everyone thought about its wattage. Is 1100 watts enough for most cooking tasks?
@KsGaming2, from my research and the TechReviewer article Overview of the Farberware FMO16AHTPLB Microwave, it seems that 1100 watts should be sufficient for most everyday tasks. However, if you plan on doing more substantial cooking, like roasting a large turkey as @riveroaken mentioned, you might need something with higher wattage.
That's true. It all depends on your specific needs and how often you cook larger meals. For me, the 1100 watts in my current microwave work just fine for my small family of four.
Good point, @psychedelicphil. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference and what you feel comfortable spending on a microwave.
Thanks everyone for your input! I think I'll go ahead and give the Farberware FMO16AHTPLB a try. Hopefully, I won't need to cook large meals often enough to miss the convection feature too much.
