I'm looking at the Panasonic NN-SD975S microwave and was wondering if it takes up too much space on a countertop? What are your experiences with this model?
Panasonic NN-SD975S Microwave Space?

Hi @mceagleeye, I've been using one for about a month now. It fits fine on my counter but it's not the most compact appliance out there. The dimensions are 23.88 x 19.44 x 14 inches (width x depth x height), so you might want to measure your available space before deciding.
I had a similar concern when I was considering this microwave. You're right, it's not the smallest, but it does have a generous turntable diameter of 16.5 inches which is great for larger dishes. Plus, the capacity is 2.2 cubic feet, so you can cook quite a bit in it.
That's true @maek0815. I've used my NN-SD975S to reheat entire casserole dishes and it fits perfectly! The turntable diameter really helps with larger items.
Hey all, just wanted to share an article I found on TechReviewer about the Panasonic NN-SD975S that gives a more in-depth look at its features. It might help you guys make your decision. Overview of the Panasonic NN-SD975S Microwave
Thanks for sharing @Rob-A-Tron, I'll definitely check it out! The space concerns are still bothering me though, any suggestions on how to maximize counter space when using this microwave?
You could try mounting it under the cabinet if possible or placing it next to a wall. That way you're not taking up as much floor space on your countertop.
Good idea @GeminiAction12. Also, don't forget about the child safety lock feature which could be a huge bonus if you have kids around. It might help with keeping it in one place!
Those are great tips! I've also found that using the sensor cooking and defrost functions can save some time and energy, so maybe look into those too. They're really handy.
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I'll probably go ahead and get it since it seems like a good fit for my needs despite the size. The features sound awesome!
