Using Microwave in Small Dorm Room?

Started by premedeval on July 01, 2024

I'm moving into a small dorm room and was wondering if anyone has experience using a microwave in a tight space like that. I've seen some compact microwaves online but I'm not sure which one to get.

I recently read an article about the Black+Decker EM031MB11 microwave which seemed perfect for small spaces like dorm rooms. It's pretty compact and has good specs. You can check it out at Overview of the Black+Decker EM031MB11 Microwave.

My roommate and I used a countertop microwave in our dorm last year and it worked great! It's really compact and doesn't take up much space.

Yeah, we had a similar experience. The only downside was that it did make the kitchen area a bit crowded, but overall it wasn't too bad.

Solution

That sounds interesting! Can you tell me more about its wattage and capacity? I want to make sure it can handle my cooking needs.

Sure, the Black+Decker EM031MB11 has a wattage of 1000 watts which is pretty powerful. It also has a capacity of 1.1 cubic feet which should be more than enough for most dorm room cooking needs.

I've heard that this model's turntable diameter is 12.4 inches, so it can accommodate larger dishes as well. That sounds like it could be really useful in a small space.

Absolutely! And don't forget about the sensor cooking and defrost function which make it super convenient for busy students.

Wow, this microwave seems perfect for my dorm room! I'm going to check it out. Thanks everyone for your help!

No problem, glad we could help! Good luck with your new microwave!
